A Bulgarian Delegation will bring the Holy Fire from Jerusalem

A Bulgarian church delegation will go to Jerusalem to bring the Holy Fire for Easter - after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be led by Metropolitan Kiprian of Stara Zagora and is expected to arrive at Sofia Airport around 8 p.m. The Bulgarian church delegation will be the first to take the blessed fire this year.

A two-year-old boy was taken by his parents to the hospital in Smolyan without vital signs. After an hour of resuscitation, the Emergency Department medics were unable to revive him. The tragedy was reported by the city police.

After Heavy Rains: Petrohan Pass Closed, Danger of Collapse of the Road Smolyan – Devin

The Petrohan Pass is closed due to fallen stones on the road. The traffic on the road Sofia - Montana in the section Barzia - Gintsi, at km 59 is temporarily limited due to the fallen rock mass and flooded road section. The traffic is regulated by the Traffic Police, only vehicles moving to Montana are allowed, and traffic to Sofia is diverted.

Bulgaria: 16 Arrested in Smolyan region - Most of them were British Citizens

Sixteen people were arrested during a specialized police operation in the Smolyan region over the weekend, the Interior Ministry said.

Most of the detainees are British citizens residing in the Smolyan village of Polkovnik Serafimovo, where a festival was held over the weekend.

They were arrested for possession of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Bulgaria: 2.5 Million People Registered in Online Census

Only a third of Bulgarians have joined the census online. This option ended yesterday, with 2,403,458 people taking part, the chairman of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) Sergei Tsvetarski told BNT.   According to him, the number of those counted online is far below expectations.   Currently, another 2 million people are counted as interviewers.
