Turkey purchases fourth drill ship: Minister
Turkey has added a fourth drill ship to its fleet of other vessels that include Fatih, Yavuz and Kanuni, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez announced on Nov. 17.
In a shared infographic on his Twitter account, he said the new 238-meter-long and 42-meter-wide ship weighs 68,000 gross tons and has a maximum drilling depth of 12,200 meters.

Old sea mine found in Bosphorus destroyed
An exploded sea mine caught in fishermen's net in the Bosphorus has been detonated by the efforts of the military.
"A sea mine, which was caught in the net of a fishing boat and taken to a deck in the Bosphorus, was examined by an Underwater Defense [SAS] team and destroyed at the SAS Command/Riva destruction training area," the Defense Ministry said on Twitter.

No trace of mucilage at intersection of Black Sea, Bosphorus
Almost a month after authorities launched a massive cleaning campaign, no trace of marine mucilage was detected in the north of the Bosphorus Strait, which is the entry point of the upper current coming from the Black Sea.
Two dead in Bosporus Strait container ship collision
A container ship and a fishing boat collided in Istanbul's Bosporus Strait, killing two persons on June 17.
Turkey's Directorate General of Coastal Safety said the ship AS ROSAILA hit a 7-meters-long (23-foot-long) fishing boat under Istanbul's Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and the boat sunk.
Bayburt museum welcomes European Museum Award
Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum, which was established by businessman Kenan Yavuz in his village in the northern province of Bayburt, has been awarded the 2021 European Museum of the Year Silletto Award by the European Museum Forum (EMF). The award was welcomed by the city's residents.

Culture and arts season to open in September
Culture and Tourism Deputy Minister Özgül Özkan Yavuz has said the art season that was shut down early due to the COVID-19 pandemic will open one month earlier this year.
Speaking to the state-run Anadolu Agency, Yavuz provided information about the details of 2020-2021 culture and arts season.
