Unemployment in Romania reaches 3.35pct at end-February 2021

Romania's national unemployment rate was 3.35% at the end of February, up 0.01 percentage points on a monthly basis, according to a press statement released by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) on Wednesday. The rate was 0.42 percentage points higher y-o-y. The total number of the unemployed at the end of February 2021 was 293,461, 1,245 more than at the end of the previous month.

Adjusted restrictions enter into force

Ljubljana – The country-wide curfew is imposed from 10pm to 5am from Friday after the government decided to shorten it in light of the coming Daylight Saving Time change. Entering into force today are also inter-regional travel restrictions in red-coded regions. A negative rapid test result is no longer valid to enter Slovenia.

Restrictions broadly unchanged as state of epidemic extended by a month

Brdo pri Kranju – The government has extended the majority of coronavirus restrictions by another week as it prolonged the state of the epidemic by another thirty days as part of its weekly review of measures on Wednesday.

“The current epidemic situation … requires a new, temporally limited declaration of the epidemic across the entire territory of Slovenia,” the government said.

The Government adopted on Wednesday the extension of the state of alert on Romania's territory, the most important measure being the one referring to the curfew, starting at 22,00hrs instead of 23,00hrs as it had been so far. "Today the extension of the state of alert has been approved as well.
