Registered unemployment down 3.2% in February
Registered unemployment fell 3.2% or by 35,068 persons in February compared with the same month last year and was down 1.5% in comparison with January 2023, official figures showed on Monday.

China launches recruitment drive for college graduates
China is launching an annual recruitment of college graduates in large and midsize cities, the official Xinhua news agency said yesterday, as authorities double down on efforts to meet a more ambitious job creation goal this year.
The recruitment drive, hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, will last from yesterday to May 26, Xinhua said.

One in ten between the ages of 18 and 24 has dropped out of the education system early, the data also show.
The relative share of persons with higher education from the population aged 25 - 34 is 33.8%.
Slight rise in Cyprus’ unemployed
The number of unemployed people in Cyprus, as registered at District Labor Offices on the last day of February, came to 16,597, according to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (CyStat) on Friday.

Staff shortages in Cyprus tourism in 2022
The number of job vacancies reported by hotels in Cyprus for the year 2022 was almost three times the monthly average of registered unemployed people, Labor and Social Insurance Minister Kyriacos Koushos told a conference on Friday in Nicosia titled "Staff Shortages in the Field of Hospitality," in an address delivered by the ministry's permanent secretary, Andreas Zachariades.

Jobless rate stood at 10.2 in November last year
Türkiye's unemployment rate remained unchanged from October to stand at 10.2 percent in November 2022, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said on Dec. 12
The number of unemployed increased by 23,000 on a monthly basis to 3.58 million people as of October, according to the official data.

Türkiye’s unemployment rate falls to 9.6 percent
Türkiye's unemployment rate fell to 9.6 percent in August, the lowest reading since March 2014, according to data released yesterday.
Decreasing from a downwardly revised 10 percent in July, the jobless rate saw a single-digit after four years in August, data by the Turkish Statistical Agency (TÜİK) showed.
