Minimum Wage in Bulgaria Increases to BGN 560
The minimum wage will be BGN 560 as of 1 January 2019, said the government press office, reports Focus News Agency.

Bulgarian Government Will Discuss a New Minimum Wage For the Country Today
At a regular meeting, the government will discuss a new minimum wage for the country, reported bTV.
The planned increase is going to be from 510 BGN to 560 BGN from 1 January. Social Minister Biser Petkov explained that he expects to keep the trend of growth in the average salary.
Starting July 1, 2019, the minimum pension will grow by 5.7% to 219 BGN.

The National Tripartite Cooperation Council meets today to discuss the cabinet's proposal to raise the minimum wage from BGN 510 to BGN 560 as of January 1, 2019.
The employers' organizations are against the increase in the minimum wage.

Average wage rose in public sector in 2014-2017, fell in private
The best employer in Greece was the public sector in the period from 2014 to 2017, during which time the average wage for contract and non-permanent staff rose 16.7 percent, according to data from the Labor Ministry's Ergani database.
The average wage in the public sector totalled 1,502 euros in 2017 compared with 1,286.6 euros in 2014, the data showed.
Turks hack Varoufakis's Twitter account
The Twitter account of Yanis Varoufakis was reportedly hacked on Friday evening by what the former finance minister described as "Turkish fascists."
Hackers posted videos with Turkish-language content saying among other things, "We will raise the Turkish flag in Athens. Wait for the noble Turkish warriors."

FinMin Teodorovici says gov't seeking precise date to apply minimum wage increases
Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici said on Sunday evening that in the coming days the government might announce the date when the minimum wage will increase.
Process begins this month for new minimum wage
The public consultation process concerning the new level of the minimum wage is expected to begin within this month and be completed by end-December, while the requisite ministerial decision for that purpose will be issued in the latter half of January 2019.
This is according to the new timetable included in a law amendment submitted by Labor Minister Effie Achtsioglou on Wednesday.
