Bojana Jovanovski through to Washington quarter-finals
WASHINGTON - Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski reached the quarter-finals of the Washington WTA tournament early Thursday by beating Sorana Cirstea of Romania 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
In a bid to reach the semi-finals, Jovanovski will face Marina Erakovic of New Zealand, who beat Shelby Rogers of the United States 6-3, 6-4.
Jovanovski makes winning start in Washington
WASHINGTON - Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski made a successful start at the WTA tournament in Washington, edging Australian Olivia Rogowska 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 7-5 in the first round early on Wednesday.
Jovanovski next faces Sorana Cirstea of Romania, who defeated Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

PARIS - Serbia's top-ranking female tennis player Jelena Jankovic reached the third round of the French Open on Thursday by beating Kurumi Nara of Japan 7-5, 6-0.
Long into the first set, the Serbian converted a breakpoint in the 11th game, turning the encounter around and disrupting her opponent's match plan.

Ivanovic beats Lisicki
STUTGART - Serbian female tennis player Ana Ivanovic scored a successful start at the Stuttgart WTA as she beat Germany's Sabine Lisicki in the Wednesday match, 6-1, 6-3.
In the next match, Ivanovic will cross rackets with Germany's Julia Goerges who defeated Romania's Sorana Cirstea, 6-1, 7-5.

Serbia falls out of World Group

Ivanovic loses to Cirstea, Romania takes lead over Serbia
BUCHAREST - The Romanian national women's tennis team took a 1-0 lead over Serbia on Saturday in a play-off tie for remaining in the Fed Cup World Group II.
Sorana Cirstea secured the point by outplaying Ana Ivanovic 2-1, in sets 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Simona Halep and Bojana Jovanovski will clash in the other singles match on Saturday.
