Turkey plans to increase speed limits on highways
Authorities are considering increasing speed limits on Turkey's highways, starting with newly built roads, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said.
Currently, the speed limit for passenger cars on highways is 120 kilometers per hour (km/h). It is 100 km/h for buses and 90 km/h for trucks.

New traffic regulations in Croatia affect drivers from Serbia
The new National Road Safety Plan envisages the abolition of the 10% tolerance for speeding and the reduction of the limit values of the allowed amount of alcohol in the driver's blood, which now amounts to 0.5 per mille.

Stop being put to scooter anarchy
A Transport Ministry draft law seeks to impose some order on the use of scooters on Greece's streets, setting a speed limit of 25 kilometers per hour, prohibiting them from highways and making helmets mandatory. Moreover, only slower scooters will be allowed to share space with pedestrians, while faster ones will have to stick to the road. Stiff fines are also being introduced for violations.

Traffic violations last year near half a million mark
Greece's Traffic Police recorded nearly half a million violations in 2019, with speeding being the top infraction, and while the number of accidents rose, fatalities dipped, data have shown.

Twenty killed in Attica road accidents in December
Twenty people were killed and 566 were injured in a total of 503 road accidents recorded in the last month of 2019 in the region of Attica alone, data released by region's traffic police showed Friday.
Of those hurt, 15 were seriously injured, while the remaining 551 suffered lighter injuries.

The Netherlands Cuts Speed Limit on Motorways to 100 km / h
Daytime speed limits on Dutch roads must be lowered to 100 km / h in order for the country to cope with its emissions and nitrogen oxide pollution, Dutch media quoted by economic.bg.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte said it was an "unpleasant measure" but necessary. The existing limit of 130 km / h will still be allowed overnight.
