Bulgaria to Host Decisive Davis Cup Play-Off Against Hungary in September

Bulgaria will host the decisive play-off against Hungary from the third round of Group II Europe/Africa of the Davis Cup in September.

The winner from the encounter will be promoted to Group I of the Davis Cup.

The matches will be played at the National tennis centre in Sofia and will take place between September 18 and 20.

Bulgaria's Volleyball Team Scores Another Victory against Cuba

The Bulgarian men's volleyball team on Sunday defeated Cuba for a second time in 24 hours in a FIVB World League match in Varna, Bulgaria.

Unlike in the Saturday match, which ended with a sweeping 3:0 victory, Bulgaria lost a game the next day, but triumphed 25:19, 25:19, 19:25, 25:17.

Bulgaria's Levski PFC Changes Owner

Bulgarian businessman Todor Batkov has announced he is transferring all his shares in the Levski football club to three shareholders.

The ownership of Levski, which was not until long ago one of Bulgaria's best-known and most professional football teams, will be in the hands of Ivo Tonev, Aleksandar Angelov, and Nikolay Ivanov.

Botevgrad Mayor Not Indicted, Prosecutors Say

No charges have yet been pressed against Georgi Georgiev, mayor of the town of Botevgrad in Northwestern Bulgaria, the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office has said.

A probe has been launched into allegedly flawed public procurement.

On Monday morning Georgiev was detained by Sofia police officers who escorted him to the capital.

Bulgaria Beats Italy 3-1, Records Second Consecutive Victory at Men's Volleyball in Baku

The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team recorded on Tuesday its second consecutive victory at the European Games in Baku.

Bulgaria defeated Italy with 3:1 (25-21, 22-25, 34-32, 25-19) and continued its successful performance after having defeated Belgium in its first match at the games.
