Red Star lose to Cibona in Adriatic League semi-final
BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade failed to reach the final of the regional basketball Adriatic League after losing to Cibona Zagreb 75-70 (21-15, 17-12, 23-18, 14-25) in the first semi-final game late Thursday.
Red Star suffered a shocking defeat at Belgrade's Kombank Arena after winning the league stage of the competition in a convincing manner.
4,000 officers to police Greek Cup final
Police says it will ban mass gatherings in central Athens amid heavy security measures planned for Saturday's Greek Cup final between Panathinaikos and PAOK at the Olympic Stadium.
More than 4,000 officers will be on duty for the event, escorting PAOK from the northern city of Thessaloniki and enforcing the ban in Athens that will be in effect for 14 hours.

Ivanovic reaches Stuttgart quarterfinals
STUTTGART - Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic is through to quarterfinals at the WTA tournament in Stuttgart, after beating Julia Georges of Germany 2-1, in sets 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday.
The Serbian tennis player will next take on the winner of the match between Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova and second-seeded Simona Halep of Romania.

Jankovic through to Stuttgart quarterfinals
STUTTGART - Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic advanced to quarterfinals at the WTA tournament in Stuttgart, after defeating Flavia Pennetta of Italia 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday.
Jankovic upped her H2H record against Pennetta to 7-2.

Blagoy Naydenov Wins Gold in World Youth Boxing
Blagoy Naydenov grabbed the gold medal in the 81kg category at the World Youth Boxing Championships in Sofia.
Naydenov, 17-years-old, defeated Kazakhstan's Vadim Kazakov in the final at Sofia's Arena Armeets. All three judges voted in favor of the Bulgarian (29:28, 30:27, 30:27).

Grigor Dimitrov Qualifies for Quarterfinal in Bucharest
Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov defeated Czech Jiri Vesely 7:6, 6:2 in the second round of the ATP tournament in Bucharest.
Dimitrov, who is seeded 1st in the tournament, enjoyed the support of a full capacity crowd, among which many Bulgarians living in Romania.
Jankovic to face Pennetta in Stuttgart 2nd round
STUTTGART - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic will face Flavia Pennetta in the second round of the Stuttgart WTA tennis tournament after the Italian beat Andrea Petkovic of Germany 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 late Wednesday.
Jankovic has a 6-2 head-to-head ratio against Pennetta, the current world number 13.
The Serbian beat Mona Barthel of Germany 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 late Wednesday.

Police in Athens are to mount a major security operation on Saturday with the aim of ensuring the soccer cup final between Panathinaikos and PAOK is not marred by violence.

Ivanovic beats Lisicki
STUTGART - Serbian female tennis player Ana Ivanovic scored a successful start at the Stuttgart WTA as she beat Germany's Sabine Lisicki in the Wednesday match, 6-1, 6-3.
In the next match, Ivanovic will cross rackets with Germany's Julia Goerges who defeated Romania's Sorana Cirstea, 6-1, 7-5.
