Jankovic in Doha semis
DOHA - Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic advanced to the semifinals of the WTA tournament in Doha, defeating Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 on Friday.
Bidding for a place in the final, Jankovic will face Angelique Kerber of Germany, who breezed past the Czech Republic's Petra Cetkovska 6-1, 6-0.

Radnicki beats US in humanitarian match
KRAGUJEVAC - The water polo team of Radnicki from Kragujevac defeated the US national team 9-6 (4-1 1-1 0-3 4-0) in a humanitarian match in Kragujevac on Wednesday.
Victory was not the most important thing in the match, so both coaches gave all their players a chance to play.

Partizan defeated in Lithuania
KAUNAS - Partizan were defeated by Zalgiris 89-77 (29-16 29-25 19-18 12-18) in the 6th round of Group F in the top 16 stage of the basketball Euroleague.
This loss puts Partizan farther away from qualifying to the next stage, while also marking Zalgiris's first victory in the top 16 stage.

Jankovic advances to quarterfinals in Doha
DOHA - Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic is through to the quarterfinals at the tournament in Doha, after defeating Russia's Alisa Kleybanova 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday.
Jankovic defeated the Russian player for just one hour and 12 minutes.
On her way to the semis, she will take on the winner of the match between Petra Kvitova and Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic.

Serbia climbs one position in FIFA world ranking table
ZURICH - The Serbian national football team has climbed one position in the latest International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) world ranking table, and is now ranked 29th, with 775 points.
There are no changes at the top - Spain is still number one with 1,506 points, and is followed by Germany (1,318 points) and Argentina (1,255 points).
Radnicki beats Khimik to stay in race for eighthfinals
KRAGUJEVAC - Basketball team Radnicki won their Round 5 game in Group N of the Eurocup second stage, outscoring the Ukrainian Khimik Yuzhne 86-68 (25-14, 26-15, 20-22, 15-17) late on Wednesday in Kragujevac.
This was Radnicki's second victory in the group, which keeps them in the race for the next round of competition, with the same total score as the Ukrainian squad (2-3).
Jankovic in Doha Ro16
DOHA - Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic reached the Round of 16 at the WTA tournament in Doha with a straight sets win 6-0, 6-2 over Italy's Karin Knapp on Wednesday.
In the pursuit for the quarter-final berth, Jankovic will next face Russian Alisa Kleybanova, who also advanced in two sets defeating Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland by 6-3, 6-2.

Crvena zvezda in Eurocup Last 16
BILBAO - Crvena zvezda advanced to the basketball Eurocup Round of 16 after defeating the home team of Bilbao by 85-81 (25-17, 12-20, 23-20, 25-24) in their fifth match in Group L late on Wednesday.
With a score of 4-1, the Belgrade 'Red-and-Whites' have secured one of the top two spots in their group, one round before the end of second stage.

Zimonjic/Nestor through to Rotterdam second round
ROTTERDAM - Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic and Canada's Daniel Nestor were successful in the Rotterdam opener on Wednesday.
In the first round, they outlasted American-Canadian pair James Cerretan/Adil Shamasdin 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
