Janez Gorišek, a civil engineer who designed the giant hill in Planica in the late 1960s together with his older brother Vlado and is considered a pioneer of ski flying, has died aged 89.

Slovenia’s Klinec first woman ski jumper to surpass 200-metre mark
Slovenia's Ema Klinec has become the first woman ski jumper to surpass the 200-metre mark in an official competition, landing at 203 metres at the Vikersund ski flying hill in Norway during training on 18 March.

Garnbret makes Forbes list of most influential young athletes
Slovenian sport climber Janja Garnbret has made it to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in sports and games in Europe, placing alongside athletes such as NBA star Nikola Jokić, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Formula One driver George Russel.
The magazine notes that Garnbret, 24, is the first Olympic gold medallist in sport climbing and that she has won six World Championships.
Russia received an Invitation to Play in the Central Asian Football Association
Russia has been invited to participate in the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) championship in June, Reuters reported. This comes amid speculation that the Russian Football Union may switch to the Asian Confederation (AFC).
Russian football has been sanctioned by the European Football Federation (UEFA) as well as FIFA, but is seeking a return to international competition.
Berlin will Allow Women to go Topless in Swimming Pools
After a decision by the city authorities, women will soon be allowed to swim without the top of a swimsuit in Berlin's public pools, the BBC reported.
The ruling came after a woman who was kicked out of an outdoor pool for not wearing a swimsuit took legal action.
A second woman reported being told to cover up while at an indoor pool in December.
Djokovic withdraws from Indian Wells draw
LOS ANGELES - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, has officially withdrawn from the draw of the Indian Wells Masters tournament.
The decision is due to the fact an entry ban for foreign nationals who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus remains in place in the US, Reuters reported.

It's official - Djokovic cannot enter the USA
World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, has officially withdrawn from the draw for the Masters tournament in Indian Wells.
Djokovic withdrew because the decision in the United States is still in force that foreigners who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus cannot enter that country.
