Slovenian children have become slightly fitter this year but the latest nation-wide fitness test in schools has shown that girls are still scoring 8% lower and boys 4% lower in their overall physical fitness than before the Covid pandemic.

U.S. sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson won her first solo race of 2023 in sensational style on April 8, clocking a wind-aided 10.57sec to win the Miramar Invitational 100m.

Trayvon Bromell and Elaine Thompson-Herah grabbed 100m Diamond League victories on May 28 in Eugene, where eight world-leading performances highlighted the action at Hayward Field.

Usain Bolt is in Mykonos soaking up the sun and sea after a demanding World Athletics Championships in London which ended on a sour note for the fastest man on the planet following his injury in the 4×100 metre men’s final. Bolt posted a photo on his Instagram profile where a pool and some plants can be seen, but the location of the photo is unclear. He wrote: “With friends”.

Legend of track and field athletics Usain Bolt admitted to the BBC that his decision to put an end to his career was caused by the accumulated physical problems over the years and not purely psychological. The eight-time Olympic sprint champion announced he plans to step out of the track unbeaten.

After dominating the world of athletics, nine-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt will move on to his next challenge and become a pro footballer. At least, for now, in the world of video games.

Closing in on his 104th birthday, a twinkle-toed Japanese sprinter has thrown down the challenge to the world's fastest man Usain Bolt, telling him: "let's rumble!"
