The EC Plans to Extend the Ban of Imports of Ukrainian Wheat to Bulgaria and 4 more countries
The European Commission plans to extend until September 15th the term of the prohibition of imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower in Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
One in two Greeks bought a smartphone in the last 12 months
Almost every other Greek acquired a smartphone in the last year, with a survey by Focus Bari showing the Greeks are avid buyers of the handsets.
The survey, carried out in the first half of March, showed that 44% of Greeks bought a smartphone in the last 12 months, which is the fifth highest rate among 18 countries, trailing only Mexico, China, the United Arab Emirates and India.

Facebook Opens a Large Center for Monitoring Content in Sofia
The largest social networking site, Facebook, has officially announced it will open an office in Sofia to control and moderate content. The content review center will be in partnership with TELUS International, one of the largest outsourcing companies in Bulgaria. The news was reported to Capital.bg by the head of the content policy department of the company.
Korean Hanon Systems Buys the Magna Powertrain Plant in Plovdiv as Part of Huge Deal
South Korean Hanon Systems will acquire car components maker Magna Powertrain Plovdiv. The Bulgarian company is sold under a deal for 10 factories of Canadian Magna International, totaling 1.23 billion dollars, reported Capital. The sale is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019, after obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
EU carbon emissions 'rise 1st time in 7 years'
Emissions regulated under Europe's carbon market rose for the first time in seven years in 2017 due to stronger industrial output, data published yesterday by the European Commission and examined by carbon analysts at Thomson Reuters showed.

Greece insists on environmental fines on gold mining firm
Greece's Environment Ministry has appealed a court decision annulling a 1.7-million-euro ($2.06 million) fine it had slapped on mining firm Eldorado Gold.
In a statement Friday, the ministry said the Athens court ruling did not dispute the findings of an environmental inspection at two of the Canadian company's sites in northern Greece.
Eldorado arbitration period on Skouries extended
Canadian mining firm Eldorado Gold provided an update on the arbitration process with the Greek government on the Skouries gold mines in central Macedonia on Tuesday, confirming at the request of the arbitral panel that a 90-day arbitration period has been extended by 60 days.
It will now end on April 6.

S. Dakota Keystone pipeline shut down after oil spill
