Lufthansa hit by new pilots' strike on long-haul, freight services
Pilots at German airline Lufthansa said on Sept. 7 they will stage new walkouts on freight and long-haul passenger services on Sept. 8 in their long-running dispute with management over early retirement provisions.

A Singapore Airlines plane flying to Singapore has made an emergency landing in Istanbul after running into a flock of storks.
The Singapore-bound Boeing 777-200 took off from Istanbul Atatürk Airport at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, with 255 passengers and 14 crew members aboard.
Turkish Airlines increases net profits by 66 percent in second quarter
Turkish Airlines increased its net profits by 66 percent in the second quarter of the year from the same period of 2014, to 662 million Turkish Liras.
The company's net profits thus increased to 1.04 billion liras in the first half of the year.
