World Bank To Help Croatia Privatize Airline
Croatia's maritime, transport and infrastructure ministry has signed a contract with the World Bank to find a strategic partner to privatize or recapitalize the struggling state-owned company Croatia Airlines.
Transport minister Sinisa Hajdas Doncic confirmed the agreement on Tuesday.

Turkish Airlines to launch direct flights to Miami
Turkish Airlines (THY), Turkey's national flag-carrier, will begin direct flights to Miami on Oct. 25, the company announced on May 13.
The move makes Miami the company's 12th destination in the Americas, on top of existing services to Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Boston, Montreal and San Francisco.

Boeing and Turkish Airlines have celebrated a milestone with the delivery of the airline's 125th airplane purchased from Boeing, a Next-Generation 737-900ER, one of 12 airplanes that the Turkish flag-carrier will take delivery of this year, the companies announced in a press release on May 12.

Lufthansa flies back into profit in Q1
German airline Lufthansa said on May 5 it flew back into the black in the first three months of the year, powered particularly by the good performance of its Swiss and Lufthansa Cargo subsidiaries.
Lufthansa said in a statement it booked a net profit of 425 million euros ($473 million) in the period from January to March, compared with a loss of 252 million euros a year earlier.

Turkish Airlines (THY) had to abort the landings of three of its airliners at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport on April 22 due to stray dogs that invaded the runway.
The pilot of THY's Zurich-Istanbul flight was the first to notify the tower about a pack of dogs near the runway.

Qatar Airlines increase destinations to Greece
Qatar Airways is increasing flights to Athens from Doha with the addition of a third flight to operate daily from June 1. This will raise the number of weekly flights to the Greek capital from 14 to 21 flights per week.
The Athens-Doha route, carried out by Airbus 320, 321 and 330, will be one of 146 destinations around the globe carried out by the airline.
