U.S. authorities are investigating German auto supplier Robert Bosch GmbH over its role in Volkswagen AG's massive scheme to cheat U.S. emission standards, according to people familiar with the matter.

Volkswagen used devices to cheat air pollution tests in diesel luxury vehicles, U.S. environmental regulators said on Nov 2, in a new blow to the automaker already reeling from similar allegations regarding millions of smaller diesel engines. 

The long-awaited ?Turkish national car? prototypes which sparked widespread debate over their originality were made in Sweden and purchased for 40 million euros ($45 million).

The prototypes of the ?indigenous? cars announced on Oct.13 by I??k initiated a social media storm due to their resemblance to the Cadillac BLS, a restyled model of the Saab 9-3.

A long-awaited domestic vehicle that has been promoted as a "national car" by government officials during election campaign stops, was unveiled Oct. 13, but its resemblance to Cadillac has sparked a debate.   

Chancellor Angela Merkel on Oct.4 said the emissions scandal that has hit car giant Volkswagen was "dramatic" but would not inflict lasting damage to Germany's reputation.

Volkswagen is looking at ways to cut costs and boost cash flow and could sell more shares if the price of clearing up a scandal over its rigging of diesel emissions tests puts its credit rating at risk. 

Sometimes truth is indeed stranger than fiction. I would never have expected a German company, especially one which is built on trust, to be involved in such a shameful scam. 

The first cases against Volkswagen in Turkey regarding an emissions-cheating scandal have been filed by an Istanbul-based law firm, although more complaints are expected to be filed in the coming weeks.

The revelations that German car manufacturer VW had purposely been misleading customers and authorities to believe their cars emitted less pollutants than they actually did rocked the world. But the ‘diesel dupe’, as the story has been dubbed could have another twist to it. A chapter of intrigue and industrial espionage.
