Major sports, leisure, shopping venues shut door against coronavirus
The landmark Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) on Athens' southern coast announced on Friday its decision to suspend operations in order to protect staff and visitors from the spreading Covid-19 virus.
EMST finally opens permanent exhibition
After notorious delays, Greece's National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) will finally open its permanent exhibition hall to the public on Friday, it was announced yesterday during a press conference headed by Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.

Composer Giorgos Kouroupos turns Stefan Zweig's 1929 short story "Leporella" into an opus for the Greek National Opera's alternative stage at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in southern Athens. The opera is in Greek and will be accompanied by English surtitles.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in southern Athens will be ringing in the New Year in tremendous style with a spectacular fireworks show and dancing fountains at the Canal. British DJ, radio show host, and founder/managing director of Acid Jazz Records will also be spinning the decks in a big outdoor party with an intro/outro set by the trumpet-jamming Johny Matto at the Agora.

Pompeo reiterates warning over Turkish drilling off Cyprus
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reiterated on Saturday that the US has made it clear to Turkey that "illegal drilling is unacceptable."
"We will continue to communicate that," he added.
Pompeo was responding to a question after a speech at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens.
