‘Tragic Period in Croatian History’ Commemorated at Jasenovac Camp

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told the annual commemoration at Jasenovac on Thursday that the Independent State of Croatia, NDH, a fascist puppet state run by the Ustasa movement and supported by Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, was "one of the most tragic periods in Croatian history".

Dacic pointed out that Croatia has been designated as an aggressor by the Hague Tribunal.

"This is an internal political demand and propaganda, because Croatia is not doing well. Croatia has been marked as an aggressor. It has been marked in the Tribunal; Serbia has not been marked by any act," he told TV Pink.

Speaking for the Belgrade-based tabloid Alo, he also described "the messages of politicians" exchanged between Zagreb and Belgrade recently as "very dangerous, even if they are the result of the election campaign (in Croatia)."

BELGRADE - Former Croatian president Stjepan Mesic stated Monday that relations between Croatia and Serbia are not as they should be in the best interest of both countries and the region as a whole.

The relations are still burdened by the past, and Zagreb and Belgrade will have to overcome their disagreements soon, Mesic told Belgrade-based daily Danas.
