Bourse sharks smelled blood, taking a bite

While the ratio between foreign sellers and buyers of Greek stocks has reached two-to-one in recent weeks, according major local stock brokers, buyers have recently included a new generation of investment groups aiming to benefit from the very low prices, mostly of Greek banks but also of other large groups.

Bulgaria's Finance Ministry Successfully Placed 10,5-Year BGN-Denominated GS Issue

Bulgaria's Finance Ministry launched a new 10.5-year BGN-denominated government securities (GS) issue with maturityJuly 14, 2025.

At the auction held on January 12, GS to the amount of BGN 50 million were successfully placed, with the average weighted yield being 3,09%, according to a media statement of the Finance Ministry.

Borsa Istanbul ranks among top 5 stock markets

Turkey's main stock exchange, Borsa Istanbul, was ranked among the top five performers in the world in 2014, the exchange announced in a statement late on Jan. 5.

The BIST-100 Index was the best performing investment instrument based on its 2014 annual yields, with Borsa Istanbul investors gaining an average yield of 26.43 percent in 2014, said the statement.

Nuclearelectrica to increase its share capital; subscription period to start on Jan 5

The subscription period for National Company Nuclearelectrica (SNN) shares related to the share capital increase will start on January 5 and will continue for a period of 31 calendar days, until February 4, 2015, according to an announcement posted on the Bucharest Stock Exchange website.

Attica Bank to proceed with capital boost

Attica Bank’s general shareholders meeting on Wednesday voted to proceed with the lender’s 433-million-euro share capital increase.

Stakeholders also agreed to the reverse split of Attica shares with a respective increase in their nominal value, while there was no news on attracting a strategic investor.
