An orange code for high temperatures (up to 40 degrees) has been issued for today by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for 5 provinces - Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, St. Zagora and Haskovo.

Severe storms with winds exceeding 100 km/h hit Slovenia late on 18 July, ripping roofs off buildings, and knocking down trees and power lines. A yellow and orange code for short-term and temporarily intense rainfall was issued for 15 provinces in Eastern and Central Bulgaria on Friday (July 7). Warning for torrential rains in South-West Bulgaria. Maximum temperatures will be between 28 and 36 degrees Celsius. It will be mostly sunny, with mist or low clouds over eastern areas in the morning hours.

After noon, mainly over the mountainous regions, it will be cloudy, but only in isolated places it will rain and thunder. The wind will be oriented from the east-northeast, it will be weak.

Yellow code for local intense rainfall, thunderstorms and hail has been announced by NIMH in 7 provinces of Northern Bulgaria for today, June 26.

The provinces are: Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targovishte and Razgrad.

It is expected that 20-30 mm of rain will fall there, locally up to 40-50 mm.
