Heavy downpours expected in western parts of country
The Turkish State Meteorological Service has declared a "yellow alert" warning for 16 provinces, warning citizens to be careful and cautious against the possibilities of floods, lightning, landslides, and strong winds.
Another weather change awaits Serbia
Snow is expected on high mountains. Precipitation is expected mostly south of the Sava and Danube rivers. In the afternoon and evening, there will be a gradual stabilization with partial clearing up.
Wind will be weak and moderate, west and north-west. The lowest temperature will be from 6 to 10 °C, and the highest from 13 to 18 °C.

Scientists said on Jan. 16 they have used a laser beam to guide lightning for the first time, hoping the technique will help protect against deadly bolts and one day maybe even trigger them.
Lightning strikes between 40-120 times a second worldwide, killing more than 4,000 people and causing billions of dollars worth of damage every year.
Slovenian researchers first to find microplastic in hailstones
A group of Slovenian researchers is the first in the world to find microplastic in hailstones. The results of their analysis suggest that microplastic may also contribute to the formation of large ice balls or lumps, they said at Monday’s press conference in Ljubljana.
Rain pounds western provinces, hits Bursa most
Torrential rains have lashed some western parts of Türkiye, with the northwestern province of Bursa bearing the brunt the most as its bus terminal's porch has collapsed.
Following the torrential rain warnings issued for nine provinces, including Bursa, the expected rain hit the city on Aug. 31.
