Athens metro workers call five-hour stoppage on Tuesday
Workers on the Athens metro will be walking off the job from the start of their shift until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, stranding morning commuters.
The workers' union said that walk-out should be regarded by the management of operator STASY as a "warning" that may lead to additional strikes.
Power board workers to stage rolling strikes
Workers of the country's public power corporation are to start rolling 48-hour strikes from Tuesday at midnight, their labor union GENOP announced on Monday.
The action, which is being held to protest the government's plans to shut down all of the country's lignite-powered plants starting next year.

Croatian Educators Protest Demanding Higher Salaries
They walked in a procession in the centre of Zagreb, ending in front of the government building, where protest organisers and union representatives made speeches.
"You have no right to give up the fight for our dignity and for the status of our profession," Sanja Sprem, head of the Union of Croatian Teachers, told protesters.

Municipal workers shut down city center
Disgruntled local authority workers ride to Parliament in a motorcycle rally in downtown Athens, on Wednesday. Their rally and protest march caused traffic jams in the center of the Greek capital, which is also seeing a buildup of trash on the streets due to a two-day strike called by the municipal workers' union, POE-OTA.

Railway employees call off labor action after court ruling
The union of railway employees announced Monday that they are calling off their planned work stoppage and 24-hour strike for Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, after a court found their labor action illegal.
The Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers (POS) is demanding new collective labor contracts.

All private and state-owned media in Greece have launched a 24-hour strike today, joining the workers' general strike organized by the General Confederation of Employees in Greece.
The strike will last from Wednesday at six in the morning until about the same time on Thursday, Athens News Agency (ANA) reports.
