Night transport in Sofia is being restored from today after a three-year interruption. There are two bus lines - #1 from "Lyulin 1" to "Mladost 4" and #2 from "Studentski Grad" to "Obelya".

At a meeting of the Specialized Committee of the Municipal Expert Council on Territorial Planning, the preliminary draft of a detailed plan for the extension of the metro in Sofia from the "Vitosha" metro station to the "Studentski Grad" district with three new metro stations was accepted.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his father. The report of a man with multiple stab wounds found in "Studentski Grad" was received around 17:30 on Thursday.

The teams that arrived at the scene found the death of a 60-year-old man.

The victim and the suspect of the murder are Serbian citizens, with the status of permanent residents in Bulgaria.

An accident left five districts of Sofia without hot water and heating.

Elevated levels of fine particulate matter have been registered in Sofia, airsofia.info reported. According to the map, the air is polluted in almost the entire city. 

Most polluted residential areas are Knyazhevo, Gorna Banya, Karpuzitsa, Boyana, Ovcha Kupel, Studentski grad, Krasna Polyana and parts of Mladost 2.

The deadline for submission of bids in the tender for cleaning companies in Sofia, announced by the municipality, expires.

The value of the public procurement is BGN 436 million and the term is 5 years.

Students open the first 24-hour library in Bulgaria. This will happen on October 1st at 10 "Akademik Zhak Natan" street in Studentski grad next to the High College of Telecommunications and Posts. The initiators are Martina Georgieva and her colleagues Lachezar Yordanov and Tsvetomira Giaurova.

There will be constant video surveillance at night.

The night transport in Sofia started just one year ago and 144 thousand passengers have used this service. Four lines with a common intersection in the center of the city connect with the more remote areas of the capital. Night lines are most preferred on Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, which is understandable and natural.

"Toplofikatsiya Sofia" reminds its clients that from May 13 (Monday) to May 20, 2019, (incl.) heating will be stopped in  "Mladost-1", "Musagenitsa", "Darvenitsa", Studentski Grad, and Vitosha districts  and for all residences of Simeonovsko Shosse Blvd. as well. 

Some 144,000 passengers have used the night transport in Sofia since its launch a year ago, said the Executive Director of the Urban Mobility Centre (UMC), Hristian Petrov, in an interview with Focus News Agency.
