Prosecutor's Office Launched an Investigation into Bobov Dol Thermal Power Plant

The District Prosecutor's Office in the town of Dupnitsa on January 17 launched an investigation into Bobov Dol Thermal Power Plant (TPP) for crimes against public health and the environment. Pre-trial proceedings for a commited crime have been initiated, BNT reported.

Elevated Levels of Fine Particulate Matter is Sofia

Elevated levels of fine particulate matter have been registered in Sofia, airsofia.info reported. According to the map, the air is polluted in almost the entire city. 

Most polluted residential areas are Knyazhevo, Gorna Banya, Karpuzitsa, Boyana, Ovcha Kupel, Studentski grad, Krasna Polyana and parts of Mladost 2.

The Construction of the First 8 Stations from the Third Metro Line of Sofia Will Be Completed the Next Month

The construction of the first 8 stations from the third metro line of Sofia will be completed in December, the director of Metropoliten Stoyan Bratoev announced, Trud bg writes. The 8 km route starts from Vladimir Vazov Blvd and will pass through Eagle Bridge, National Palace of Culture and Bulgaria Blvd, reaching Krasno Selo. The stations will be commissioned in the next few months.

116 New Electric Buses for Varna and Burgas under an European Program

The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov, the acting Mayor of Varna Municipality Peycho Peychev and the Executive Director of City Transport EAD - Varna Zlati Zlatev signed a contract for the modernization of urban transport in the municipality. The project is funded under Operational Program "Environment 2014-2020" (OPE). The total investment is BGN 85.4 million.

Six New Industrial Zones to Be Established in Burgas

Six new industrial zones will be established in the next two years in Burgas - "Meden Rudnik", Dolno Ezerovo, Ravnets, Ninth kilometer, Cherno more and expansion of the North industrial zone, Dimitar Nikolov announced.

The procedures for lands alienation, change of their purpose and their separation into plots for business and industry have already been completed.

Abandoned Baby Found in Sofia's Lyulin Neighborhood

An abandoned baby was found last night in the capital's Lyulin neighborhood. The baby is about 7-8 months of age and in good health.

The baby was found in a child car seat with a note - "Give it to the social. Good luck!". She was taken over by the services and housed in the St. Ivan Rilski Home for Social Care in Sofia.

Explosion at a Dobrich Gas Station Killed a Woman, Another is in a Hospital

Woman killed in gas station explosion in Dobrich. Another woman was injured. The incident happened around 8 pm last night at the exit of Varna. According to preliminary data, a gas cylinder of a car exploded during charging. The blasted car is almost completely destroyed. There were two women in it - a mother and a daughter, bTV reports.

Bulgarian Special Prosecution Charges Five Officials of Burgas Food Safety Directorate with Bribery

The Special Prosecutor's Office has charged five officials of the Burgas Regional Food Safety Directorate with membership in an organized crime group involved in soliciting and receiving bribes, said the Appellate Special Prosecutor's Office. Among them is the director, who has been indicted as the leader of the group.

The New Electric Buses in Sofia Will Have 25 and 60 Seats

The new 52 electric buses which  Sofia Municipality will buy will be two types.

30 of them will be 5.5 to 7.5 meters long and the remaining 22 will be between 7.6 and 9.6 meters long. The shorter ones will have about 25 seats and the longer ones will have 60 seats for passengers. The information was announced on the social network by the Deputy Mayor of Sofia, Doncho Barbalov.
