Thessaloniki Uni unveils 5-year project to protect Epirus monuments
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has unveiled a five-year plan involving more than 300 members of its teaching and research staff to lend their know-how to help protect the monuments and cultural heritage of Epirus, northwestern Greece.
Teen electrocuted at train power depot in Kilkis
The company responsible for Greece?s railways and trains, OSE, was on Monday investigating the circumstances that led to the electrocution death of a 15-year-old at a train power depot in Kilkis, northern Greece, on Sunday.
The boy was reportedly playing with a friend around the disused tracks and had climbed into a decommissioned train engine.

Missing student Vangelis Giakoumakis, found dead (photos + video)
The announcement concerning the cause of death of 20-year-old Vangelis Giakoumakis, the missing Ioannina Dairy School student from Crete, will be made on Monday. Coroner Theodoros Vougiouklakis said that findings are to be confirmed in lab tests at around noon.
Fugitive robber arrested after four months on the run
A 37-year-old ethnic Greek from the former Soviet Union who had absconded while on a furlough from Felli Prison in Grevena, northwestern Greece, last November was caught by police on Thursday in Menemeni, a suburb of Thessaloniki.
The fugitive is serving time for several burglaries in central Thessaloniki and Menemeni.
Inquiry launched in Greek teen's death in Rome
Regional education authorities in Imathia, northern Greece, have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 17-year-old local girl who fell from a second-floor balcony in Rome earlier this month during a school trip to the Italian capital.

European court charges Greece over detention of five men
