Danger from Sudan: Biological Weapon, Measles and Cholera Laboratory has been Taken Over
There is a high biohazard in the Sudanese capital Khartoum after one of the warring sides seized a laboratory that stored measles and cholera pathogens and other dangerous materials, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned today.

The number of Greeks who have been safely evacuated from war-torn Sudan came to 43 on Tuesday afternoon and was expected to continue rising, as at least 80 individuals who are Greek or related to one are still in Khartoum waiting to be taken out.

First group of Greeks evacuated from Sudan make it home
The first group of Greeks and their families being evacuated from war-torn Sudan arrived at the Elefsina air base west of Athens on Tuesday morning.
A Hellenic Air Force transport plane brought the 13 Greeks and four spouses of different nationalities, who had been taken to Djibouti and from there to Egypt before being flown back home.
New 72-hour Ceasefire was agreed in Sudan
Sudan's warring parties have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire from midnight. This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. It is at least the third ceasefire to be announced since violence erupted earlier this month. To date, none of them have been complied with.

The first 28 Greeks evacuated from Sudan will arrive at a military airfield in Elefsina, west of Athens, Tuesday morning.

Aircraft dispatched to Djibouti to collect Greeks
A C-27 transport aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force took off on Monday afternoon from Aswan Airport in Egypt to Djibouti to collect the Greeks who have been transferred there from war-torn Sudan.
The flight back to Greece is most likely to depart for Greece on Tuesday.

31 Bulgarians have expressed their desire to Evacuate from Sudan
At the moment, 31 Bulgarian citizens have expressed their desire to evacuate from Sudan. This was said at an extraordinary briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and spokesperson of the department, Kostadin Kojabashev. A 24/7 connection is maintained with them, he added.
Five more Greeks evacuated from Sudan
The Greek Foreign Ministry has announced that an Italian military aircraft has evacuated five more Greeks from Sudan, bringing the total number of Greek evacuees to 23.
According to the ministry, they have been safely transported to Djibouti.
