Spain is leading Romania with the score of 2-1, after Garbine Muguruza defeated Simona Halep by 6-4, 6-3, on Sunday, on the Dunarea Arena of Galati, in the first round of the World Group II of the team-based Fed Cup tennis competition.

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep said on Friday that she is ready to play her best tennis in the match opposing Romania and Spain in the first round of the 2nd Fed Cup World Group at the 'Dunarea' sports arena in Galati.

LUXEMBOURG - Filip Filipovic, a member of Serbia's water polo team, was declared Europe's best player in 2014, according to LEN, the European governing body for aquatic sports.
Nikola Grbic new head coach of Serbia's volleyball team
BELGRADE - Famous national team captain Nikola Grbic was appointed head coach of Serbia's team on Tuesday, the Serbian Volleyball Federation stated in a release.
Grbic, a member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame and the 1997 best European player, ended his successful professional career last year, and is currently coaching Italy's Perugia.
Djokovic cements top spot, Troicki climbs to No. 46
LONDON - World number one Novak Djokovic has cemented the top spot in the ATP ladder, doubling the gap between him and second-placed Roger Federer following his fifth Australian Open title on Sunday.
Djokovic now has 13,045 points, 3,800 more than Federer, who lost points after not reaching the semifinals, dumped out by Italy's Andreas Seppi in the third round.

MELBOURNE - World number one Novak Djokovic won his 5th Australian Open in Melbourne on Sunday by beating Andy Murray of the UK 7-6(5) 6(4)-7 6-3 6-0.
The Serb now has 49 ATP titles to his name, 8 of which are Grand Slams, that is two Wimbledon titles and one US Open along with the 5 Australian Open trophies.

Arsovic wins bronze, breaks national record
KUWAIT - Serbia's Andrea Arsovic won the bronze medal in the women's 50m Rifle Prone event at the 41th International Shooting Grand Prix in Kuwait City on Friday.
Arsovic ended up in the third position with 621.0 points, beating the Serbian national record.

Partizan powerless against Primorje
BELGRADE - Partizan lost to Primorje from Rijeka 11-7 (3-2 2-2 3-2 3-1) in the 4th round of group B of the water polo Champions League at home in Belgrade on Wednesady.
This was Partizan's third defeat and Primorje's third victory in group B.
Partizan's next match is against Spandau in Germany, while Primorje will host the match against Jug from Dubrovnik.

Arsovic wins silver in 50m rifle 3 positions event
KUWAIT CITY - Serbia's Andrea Arsovic won silver in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions (3x20) event at the 41th International Shooting Grand Prix in Kuwait on Wednesday.
After wining gold in the 10m air rifle event yesterday, Arsovic ended up second in today's event with 458.6 points in the final.
