First racist political party founded in Turkey in 2017, Turks presented as ‘superior race’
The Ötüken Union Party – Turkey’s first openly racist political party to run for parliament – was founded on Dec. 20, online publisher Duvar reported on Jan. 5, citing the yearly political party list released by the Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor’s Office.
New Supreme Judicial Council Members Take The Oath of Supreme Court of Cassation Today
Today, the new Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) will take an oath in the solemn hall of the Supreme Court of Cassation.
It is expected that the first meeting will take place within the day.
A week ago to journalists, Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva announced that today she will announce her opinion on the work of the Council over the past 5 years.
New chief appointed to Supreme Court
Greece's cabinet on Monday appointed a new president to the country's Supreme Court, filling the top judicial post after the summer recess, following the retirement in June of Vassiliki Thanou.
The cabinet made its choice from the lower echelons of the court's judicial hierarchy, naming Vassilis Peppas as the new chief of the body after bypassing several vice presidents.

Turkey's judicial year ceremony returns to Supreme Court of Appeals after presidency controversy
The judicial year opening day ceremony venue will once again be the Supreme Court of Appeals this year, after controversy erupted over the fact that it was held at the presidential palace in Ankara under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2015.
The Supreme Court of Appeals will host the ceremony on Sept. 5, the date it had traditionally been held for years.
Cleaners vindicated by Supreme Court
Greece's Supreme Court has vindicated 393 finance ministry cleaning ladies who were sacked in September, 2013.
The court rejected the appeal lodged by the Greek state in November 2014 against a ruling by the Athens Court of First Instance, according to which the cleaners would get their jobs back.
