Athens is being evaluated as a sustainable destination
The Municipality of Athens, for the first time, through the Development and Tourism Promotion Company (EATA), has activated the process for the certification of the destination as sustainable - according to the 17 United Nations Goals - with the aim of creating a better and even more competitive city .
Cycling sector enjoying strong demand amid pandemic
Turkey's bicycle manufacturing industry is one of the sectors that has been benefiting from opportunities arising amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Production capacity and employment in the sector have stretched to their limits, said Esat Emanet, the head of the Bicycle Industry Association (BİSED).
Slovenia ranks 9th in Agenda 2030 implementation
Ljubljana – Slovenia ranks 9th among 165 countries in the implementation of the Agenda 2030 sustainable development goals, according to a report complied by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network under the wings of the UN, and the Bertelsmann Stiftung foundation and the Cambridge University Press. Last year, it ranked 12th.

Electricity usage up 19.2 percent in May
Turkey's electricity consumption increased by 19.2 percent in May, compared to the same month of 2020, according to the latest data released by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.
The country's power consumption reached 24.78 billion kilowatt-hours last month and electricity production also increased by 20.3 percent to 24.90 billion kilowatt-hours compared to May 2020.

Turkish family visits 30 countries on bicycles
Imagine a mom, dad, and son head out on an adventure on their bikes across the globe! That's the Sarıhan family, and they have been pedaling in different parts of the world since 2005.
This family is made up of father Soner, mother İnci, and 12-year-old Tibet Çınar. When the wandering couple was cycling around the world, their son joined the team in 2011 when he was only 22 months.
