Contemporary Istanbul set to kick off in iconic shipyard
Contemporary Istanbul, Turkey's leading art fair and the first international art event since the city went into lockdown, is set to kick off today in a significant new location, Tersane Istanbul, a venue that is expected to become one of the new landmarks of the Turkish metropolis.
Contemporary Istanbul to be held in October
Contemporary Istanbul (CI) will present its 16th edition in a new location, Tersane Istanbul, from Oct. 7 to 10.

The fair will bring contemporary art to one of Istanbul's most important heritage sites, following a major regeneration project to breathe new life into the historic Haliç Shipyard and the Golden Horn district.

Ai Weiwei's porcelains at Istanbul's Sakıp Sabancı Museum
The first solo exhibition in Turkey by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, one of the most influential figures of contemporary art, opened on Sept. 12 at Istanbul's Sakıp Sabancı Museum with the support of Akbank.
Weiwei was present at a press conference held on Sept. 11 for the exhibition, titled "Ai Weiwei on Porcelain."
They united their forces for Istanbul
The events Istanbul's prominent art institutions will organize one after another immediately after Eid al-Adha will leave their mark on the city.
If it's necessary to identify them by order of date, the Sakıp Sabancı Museum will host the Chinese dissident contemporary artist Ai Weiwei, who preoccupies himself with world issues on Sept. 12.
