37-Year-Old American Swims the English Channel Four Times without Rest
37-year-old American Sarah Thomas became the first person in the world to swim the English Channel four times without any rest. She started swimming in the early hours of Sunday and this morning, 54 hours later, managed to reach the British city of Dover.

Parents of drowned sisters say teens did not know how to swim
The parents of two sisters who drowned in a hotel swimming pool while on holiday on the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes on Wednesday evening have confirmed that the teenagers did not know how to swim, local newspaper Rodiaki has reported.
Golomeev swims to a World Championship silver medal
Kristian Golomeev earned Greece's second ever World Championship medal in swimming on Saturday, as he finished second at the 50 meters freestyle final at FINA's event in South Korea.
The Greek champion was joint second with Brazil's Bruno Fratus, clocking 21.45 seconds, behind American Caeleb Dressel who won gold with a championship record time of 21.04 secs.

Sea drownings are a scourge for Greece, according to statistics. Figures indicate that this country has one of the highest occurrences of drowning deaths in the European Union, but also on a global scale. In 2018, more people died here as a result of drowning than in Italy which has six times Greece's population.

Experts warn over drownings
Health experts are calling on citizens to show greater caution when swimming in the sea after official figures pointed to more than 400 deaths by drowning last year.
A total of 413 deaths by drowning were recorded in Greece last year, compared to 400 in nearby Italy, whose population is nearly six times that of Greece.

The Closed Swimming Pools in Sofia Have Removed the Violations and are Already Working
The Regional Health Inspectorate closed 6 swimming pools in Sofia because of a lack of water quality.
Dr Desislava Dragancheva, Head of State Health Control Department, said in the morning block of BNT that the violations have been removed and the pools are already open.
