Antani Ivanov with a New Extraordinary Record of 100 m Butterfly
Antani Ivanov made an extraordinary record of a 100 meter butterfly in a small pool during the state swimming championship at the Sports Palace in Sofia. Bulgaria's No. 4 athlete for 2017 won the gold for 51.85 seconds and became the first Bulgarian to swim under 52 seconds in the discipline.
Second silver medal for Vazaios in Copenhagen
Andreas Vazaios added a second silver medal to his tally at the European Short Course Championship in Copenhagen on Sunday, finishing second at the 200-meter butterfly final.
Two days after earning silver at the 200-m. medley final, the Greek champion won his career's third medal in the Short Course Europeans with a national record.

Vazaios earns silver at Short Course Europeans
Greek swimming champion Andreas Vazaios won silver at the European Short Course Championship on Friday, finishing second at the men's 200-meter medley final.
The Argyroupoli swimmer clocked one minute and 53.27 seconds to register a new national short-course record that was six tenths of a second better than the one he had recorded in the morning's qualifiers.

Tokyo's Water is too Dirty for Olympic Competitions
The Tokyo Gulf water, in which some competitions have to happen at the Olympic Games in 2020, is too dirty and does not meet the standards of international federations. A water survey in the Odaya area has shown that at least for the time being there will not be any competitions.

Thomopoulos may return to Piraeus Bank
The Hellenic Financial Stability Fund has rejected former Piraeus Bank chief executive Anthimos Thomopoulos's candidacy for his old post, opting instead to propose Christos Papadopoulos and Stelios Papadopoulos (who are not related) for the position at the lender of which the bank bailout fund controls 26 percent.

Swimming through the Corinth canal
Participants in the "Swim the Canal" event take part in the race through the 6,346-meter-long Corinth Canal that separates the Peloponnese from mainland Greece, Tuesday.
