Ljubljana – The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has ordered 360,000 doses of flu vaccine for this season, which is more than last year, when demand exceeded expectation. It is not clear yet whether the vaccine will be available for free this year as well. Flu vaccination usually starts in October.

Healthy, young volunteers will be infected with coronavirus to test vaccines and treatments in the world's first Covid-19 "human challenge" study, which will take place in the UK.

The study, which has received ethics approval, will start in the next few weeks and recruit 90 people aged 18-30.

About 28% of adult Bulgarians would rather get vaccinated against Covid-19, while 43% would not. With regard to educational status, among higher school graduates the proportion of those declaring that they would get vaccinated is higher. The significant share (29%) are those who do not know or have not yet decided whether they would get vaccinated.
