Astana partners express concerns over rising terror attacks in northern Syria

The Astana Group, comprised of Turkey, Russia and Iran, has expressed concerns over the rising terror attacks against the civilians in northern Syria, while drawing attention to separatist agendas that threaten the security of Syria and neighboring countries.

Turkey, Iran, Russia urge compromise in Syria talks

Turkey, Iran and Russia urged the Syrian Constitutional Committee on Jan. 28 to seek compromise and consensus among the sides to the decade-long civil war. 

Following consultations on the margins of the fifth meeting of the Constitutional Committee in Geneva, the three countries released a joint statement underlining their support for a sovereign, independent and united Syria.

Entrepreneurial hackathon to kick off

A hackathon on migration and entrepreneurship, called the "Migathon," is set to kick off on Jan. 8 with the participation of Turks and Syrian asylum seekers.

The event will take place between Jan. 8 and 10. Turks and Syrian asylum seekers residing in Turkey's Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Mersin, Bursa, İzmir, Ankara, Konya and Hatay provinces will be able to participate.

Athens looking to redeploy East Med diplomacy

The Greek Foreign Ministry reportedly plans to reactivate Greece's involvement in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region in tandem with the gradual lifting of the lockdown.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias plans to resume contacts in coming days with his counterparts in the region, while on Tuesday he announced the appointment of Tasia Athanasiou as special envoy for Syria. 

Turkish army distributes aid to 372 children in N Syria

Turkish soldiers in northern Syria distributed clothing aid to more than 350 children in six villages in Operation Peace Spring zone, the National Defense Ministry said on May 6. 
"Our heroic soldiers continue to brighten up the faces of children. A total of 372 children received clothing aid in six villages in Operation Peace Spring region," the ministry said on Twitter.
