Japan's new prime minister on Oct. 17 said the planned mass disposal of wastewater stored at the tsunami-wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant cannot be delayed, despite concerns from local residents.
6.8-magnitude quake rattles northeast Japan
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Japan's northeastern coast on May 1, authorities said, but no tsunami warning was issued.
At least three people were injured by Saturday's jolt, which produced strong shaking along parts of the eastern coast and was also felt in Tokyo.

According to data from the National Meteorological Administration, the epicenter was in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 10 km. There is no information about injuries and damages, there is no danger of tsunami waves, reported BGNews.
