Eldorado files new technical report for Skouries
Canada's Eldorado Gold Corp filed a new technical report for its contentious Skouries gold mine project in Greece on Thursday, which said it "significantly" reduces the development's environmental footprint.
The Skouries report updates a 2011 plan with industry-best practices for wastewater management and tailings, the report said.

Removal of hazardous industrial waste to start in 2015
BELGRADE - In 2015, Serbia will begin to solve the problems of hazardous industrial waste, and funds have been provided for several crucial projects, Serbian Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said Wednesday.
First phase of tailing pond repair completed
KRUPANJ - The first phase of repair of the former antimony mine Stolice tailing pond in Kostajnik, western Serbia, which was damaged in the massive May flooding, has been completed and a new water analysis of the nearby Kostajnik River will be done soon.

Ministry plans to permit discharge of mining waste into sea
The Turkish Environment Ministry is preparing to allow the deposit of mining waste into the sea if storing it on land is not appropriate, in another move that infuriates critics of the governmentâs development policies.
According to the Mining Wastes Regulationâs draft, pouring mining waste into the sea will be permitted on the condition of âdetailed monitoring.â
