Turkey's Erdoğan talks Qatar with emir, French president

In a phone call on June 16 with Qatari and French leaders, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan urged dialogue to help resolve the Gulf crisis over Qatar, according to a presidential source.

In a trilateral conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and French President Emmanuel Macron, Erdoğan brought up recent issues in the Gulf, said the source.

Turkish FM to meet Saudi king for talks over Qatar crisis

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will visit Mecca on June 16 and meet Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud as part of Turkey's efforts to calm down the ongoing crisis between Qatar and other Gulf countries. 

Çavuşoğlu will share "Turkey's sincere opinion" regarding the crisis during his visit to Mecca, he said in Kuwait on June 16 after talks in Qatar on June 15.

There is a big potential to improve economic relations between Turkey and Qatar, the cousin of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the chairman of a large company has told daily Hürriyet, adding that the Gulf country is looking to conduct more investments in the Turkish market. 

Erdoğan urges Saudi king to solve Qatar row

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has urged Saudi Arabian King Salman, the elder statesman in the Gulf region, to take the lead in resolving the ongoing crisis over Qatar.

"I think that as the elder statesman of the Gulf, the king of Saudi Arabia should solve this affair and show leadership," Erdoğan told members of his party in parliament on June 13.

Erdoğan says he will hold trilateral teleconference call with French president, Qatari emir over Qatar row 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said he will conduct a trilateral teleconference call with French President Emmanuel Macron and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on June 13 regarding the resolution of the Qatar diplomatic crisis.
