In a dramatic move this week, eight countries under the leadership of Saudi Arabia cut their diplomatic and commercial ties with Qatar.
While Kuwait has pursued mediation efforts and conveyed Saudi demands to Doha, U.S. President Donald Trump also invited the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to the White House to settle the dispute.

Turkey should reconsider the not-so-easy and unfortunately disastrous path it followed in the Syria crisis before indulging into undertaking any sort of mediation in the crisis between Qatar and a Saudi-led block of nations accusing the gas-rich state of supporting and abetting terrorism.

Qatar seeks a way out to defeat an escalating pressure from Arab states, insisting that it sees no "military solution" to crisis.
Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al- Thani told reporters on June 8 in Doha that diplomacy was still Doha's preferred option and there would never be a military solution to the problem.

Turkey does not approve sanctions on Qatar: President Erdoğan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on June 6 voiced disapproval of the sanctions on Qatar, after several Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic relations with Doha.

DOHA - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic has held bilateral meetings with the Speaker of the Advisory Council of the State of Qatar Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi and FM Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss possibilities for enhancing relations between Serbia and Qatar and developing parliamentary cooperation, as well as other matters of mutual interest.

Qatar needs to stop funding Islamists
President Trump is looking anew at American allies and partners. While saying he will preserve these relationships, he wants them to pay their fair share and uphold their side of the relationship. Whether it is South Korea or Saudi Arabia, they are subject to his calls for them to contribute more and defray our costs in deploying forces to defend them.
