Serbia to stop subsidizing trade and hotel industry

The money will primarily in factories and, partly, in the IT and communications sector, while subsidies for international trade and the hotel industry will no longer be available, Tanjug reported, citing the daily Politika.

The report said the amount was RSD 2.5 billion higher than last year, and also higher than at any time since subsidies were introduced 12 years ago.

This is according to figures released by the World Steel Association cited by Tanjug.

In the first 11 months of 2018, Serbia produced 1.8 million t of crude steel compared to 1.3 million t in the same period of the previous year, which is a 38.9 pct increase, said a report published on the association's website.

When asked by Tanjug about the position regarding a possible border correction as part of the solution to the Kosovo issue, he said that the EU was "aware of the possibility of exchanging territories and moving borders."
