Greece's new conservative government wants to revive plans to revamp the long-abandoned summer palace of the country's disenfranchised monarchy, on the slopes of Mt Parnitha, north of Athens.

The Benaki Museum presents a collection of snapshots of life and sites in Athens and its environs taken by British photographer Alexander Lamont Henderson during a visit to the Greek capital in 1904.

The Tatoi Friends Association is holding is sixth annual opera gala, raising funds for conservation work at the former royal estate north of Athens. The main destination of funds from this year's event will go toward the restoration of the estate's dilapidated winery, which is one of the oldest buildings on the property.

Archbishop Ieronymos on Wednesday presided over the annual memorial service held for Greece's late royal couple Paul and Frederica at the cemetery of the former royal estate in Tatoi, on Mount Parnitha north of Athens.

The service was attended by former king Constantine II, his wife Anne-Marie, their son Nikolaos and his spouse Tatiana Blatnik, among others.

Whoever was traveling on the Thessaloniki-Athens highway, was able to see a rare sight:

a retired Hellenic Air Force RF-4E reconnaissance airplane loaded on a huge truck right in front of them. Sure there was a traffic jam, but nobody complained…

The airplane went from the 114 Battle Wing at Tanagra to the HAF Museum at Tatoi.
