Varoufakis: If needed, the wealthy will pay an … ‘extraordinary tax’
The first mention of “extraordinary tax” by the government hit the airwaves on Saturday, with Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis stating that “if necessary”, the wealthy will be asked to cough up a one-time tax payment.
FinMin: Romanians' wages unlike Germans', taxes should not be equal
The tax alleviation programme in the new Fiscal Code aims at reducing some taxes for individuals and introducing several deductions, to correlate the fiscal burden with the wages, finances minister Darius Valcov said in an interview to AGERPRES.

Future law on fees to introduce electronic system
BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic announced on Thursday the adoption of a new law on fees, which will envisage the introduction of an electronic system for filing and paying fees.
He said that a working group tasked with drafting the law was formed two days ago, adding that this document will be drafted in the next few months.

The tax bureau will reportedly step up scrutiny of bank accounts in order to find hidden assets of wealthy depositors, an initiative that now appears as a pressing goal for the new Greek government, given its pledge towards EZ creditors to crack down on tax evasion and amid decreasing state revenues.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta on Wednesday said the latest programme with the new tax measures is the best and the Government will debate the draft tax code and tax procedure code March 18-25.

17 rich indidivuals to have assets seized
17 individuals’ assets will be seized after an order issued by the Financial prosecutor, based on data from the Center of Great Wealth Taxation, arising from finance checks performed on people with large deposits.
The checks concern a total of 49 people and are based on banking finance moves they have performed between 2000-2012.
