Romanian passengers and drivers defended carpooling apps on Wednesday, as the European Court of Justice ruled that Uber is a transport company and must respect European Union legislation in the field.

A new taxi service that aims to provide a more comfortable experience for customers was launched in Istanbul on Dec. 19, in a bid to compete with Uber and unregistered operators.

A successful Greek company has filed a lawsuit against the head of the taxi drivers' union (SATA), accusing him of spreading "slanderous, false and abusive claims" to harm the firm's reputation.

Residents of Sofia are complaining about problems with taxis. The problem seems to be from a few days.

It comes to the absurd situation in the app where one makes bids and people compete with one another, with the ability to bid up to 10 leva. But it does not work.

Uber has struck a deal with NASA to develop software for managing “flying taxi” routes in the air along the lines of ride-hailing services it has pioneered on the ground, the company said on Nov. 7.

Taxi in Central London ran into pedestrians. Several people have been injured, for one of them it is life-threatening, reports Independent.

Taxi drivers in Rome will go on a good manners course, the Italian Republic newspaper reports.

Author of the idea is the local administration and the board of tourists, according to which taxi drivers are the city's representatives because they are often the first people to contact the foreign tourist and are therefore obliged to be a symbol of the Roman hospitality.

Legislation being drafted by the Transport Ministry that will transform Beat (formerly Taxibeat) from an "electronic intermediary platform" into a "transport services provider" is much more important than the war between the forces of stagnation and those of modernization.
