Turkish authorities raided two illegal animal museums in Istanbul, seizing taxidermy specimens of polar bears, crocodiles, lions, cheetahs and bison, among numerous other wildlife.

Spain probes private taxidermy museum with 1,000 animals
Spain's Civil Guard says it is investigating a businessman in the eastern Valencia region who owned a private taxidermy collection with more than 1,000 stuffed animals, including just over 400 from protected species and at least one specimen of a North African oryx, already extinct.
Local man stuffed nearly 1,000 animals in 61 years
Niyazi Savcı, a 93-year-old man in the northwestern province of Kırklareli, has been continuing his life-long taxidermy art for 61 years.
Known as "uncle birdman" in the province, Savcı has applied taxidermy to nearly a 1,000 dead birds and wild animals by stuffing them with a special process in order to keep them intact.

Project to exhibit taxidermies of rare animal species in pipeline
With the efforts of taxidermists from Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ), rare wildlife species that were found dead in nature or who died during their treatment in the eastern province of Van will be preserved through the method of taxidermy to exhibit them in a nature museum in order to bring them to future generations.
California Bans Leather and Fur Products
California's governor Gavin Newsom has signed a ban on the manufacture of genuine leather and fur goods that are sold and distributed in the state, the AP reports.
The new law will enter into force on January 1, 2023.
