Seven taxi drivers arrested over dozens of offenses
Following police checks in Athens earlier this week, seven taxi drivers were arrested over a collective 186 total offenses, police said on Thursday.
Four of the drivers were found to possess counterfeit taxi licenses, two were caught to have collected higher fares than allowed, and one was found to have interfered with the receipt issuing device, preventing it from operating.
Taxis in Istanbul to use roof lights
Within the new project of the Istanbul Municipality, taxis will use roof lights indicating the availability of taxis as full, available, or reserved.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) accepted the proposal for the arrangement of roof lights in taxi transportation.

Istanbul’s new luxury taxis introduced
Luxury vehicles converted from minibusses, which are intact with features such as a wheelchair ramp and roof lighting, in line with the decision made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME), have been introduced.
The UKOME took the decision to convert minibusses into luxury taxis in November 2022.

Uber, Lyft, similar platforms coming to Slovenia
Brdo pri Kranju – The government has approved a proposal to amend the road transport act which introduces legal basis for digital labour platforms, such as Uber. The proposal sets down that drivers via these gig economy companies would need to get a licence. The amendments would also abolish mandatory use of taximeters for taxi drivers.

Taxi drivers in Istanbul's Atatürk Airport furious over fare rises
Some 600 taxi drivers at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport have objected to a newly introduced change on minimum fares for taxis, Doğan News Agency has reported.
