Female wrestler becomes world champion second time
Turkish female wrestler Yasemin Adar Yiğit has gained her second world championship in her career after defeating her Egyptian opponent Samar Amer İbrahim Hamza in Serbia's capital Belgrade.
The 76 kg category Greco-Roman style wrestler said, "I tried to show the strength of the Turkish women to the world," on late Sept. 14.

Number of housing project applicants nears 1.6 mln
A new record number of 1.6 million applicants just on the second day since the launch of the new housing project has kept the country's banks busy on Sept. 15.
On Sept. 14, the first day of the launch, the number of applicants reached around 850,000, which was a record number for the new housing project.

Winter will not be easy for Europe: Erdoğan
Europe will struggle this winter as Russia has choked off the supplies of natural gas that the continent depended on for years, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
"This winter will not be easy for Europe. It will be a very troubled winter. It will be a very heavy winter financially," Erdoğan told journalists on his presidential plane on his way back from Croatia on Sept. 8.

Türkiye captures ’senior’ ISIL leader: Erdoğan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Sept. 9 that Turkish security forces had arrested a "senior executive" of the ISIL.
Erdoğan said the commander was known as Abu Zeyd.
His real name was Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaidai, Erdoğan told reporters on board his flight home from a three-nation tour of the Balkans.

Teknofest attracts some 800,000 visitors
Teknofest, Türkiye's largest aerospace and technology festival held in the northern province of Samsun, has attracted nearly 800,000 visitors from around Türkiye.
The festival hosted technology-science competitions, airshows, exhibitions, summits, workshops, stage shows, concerts and some other events.

Erdoğan warns Greece over Aegean airspace violations
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sept. 3 warned Greece that it would pay a "heavy price" if it continued to "harass" Turkish planes over the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean.
"Hey Greece, take a look at history. If you go further, you will pay a heavy price," Erdoğan told at Teknofest in the Black Sea province of Samsun.
