Apple to spend billions of dollars on 5G technology
Apple has announced a multi-billion-dollar collaboration with U.S. tech firm Broadcom to make "cutting edge" components for wirelessly connecting to high-speed 5G telecom networks.
The iPhone maker did not specify exactly how many billions of dollars it would put into the Broadcom alliance.

AI recruited in effort to prevent forest fires
Artificial intelligence is being deployed in the battle for the prevention and management of forest fires through innovative programs developed and coordinated by the National Observatory of Athens (NOA).
More specifically, forest fire risk is being assessed through the Deep Cube and SeasFire programs, which started in January 2021 and March 2022 respectively.

Screenwriters take aim at artificial intelligence
When Greg Brockman, the president and co-founder of ChatGPT maker OpenAI, was recently extolling the capabilities of artificial intelligence, he turned to "Game of Thrones."
Imagine, he said, if you could use AI to rewrite the ending of that not-so-popular finale. Maybe even put yourself into the show.

OTE’s Q1 profit rises on strong mobile business, cost savings
OTE Group, the country's biggest telecoms operator, reported a 4.6% rise in first-quarter net profit thanks to cost containment and its growing Greek mobile business.
Net profit came in at 135.3 million euros, up from 129.4 million euros in the first quarter last year.
