1st domestic communication satellite to be launched in 2024

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır has announced that Türkiye's first domestic communication satellite, Türksat-6A, will be launched into space in March 2024, stating that his ministry has also made significant strides in high-speed 5G telecom networks and artificial intelligence.

Türkiye targets to send Turksat 6A to space next year

Türkiye aims to send another satellite, Türksat 6A, to space in the second quarter of 2023, Transport Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu has said.

Türkiye was one of the countries to send two new-generation satellites to orbit within a year, he said, referring to the launches of Türksat 5A at the start of 2021, and Türksat 5B toward the end of 2021.

Turkey to launch Turksat 5B communications satellite in Dec

Turkey will launch its Turksat 5B communications satellite into orbit next month, a senior official said on Nov. 24.

"One of the prominent features of Turksat 5B, which will be launched into an orbital slot at 42 degrees East, is to increase Turkey's Ka-band data communication capacity 15-fold," Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said in a statement.

Turkey to launch 5A satellite next week

Turkey plans to launch a communication satellite on the night between Monday and Tuesday next week, the country's transport and infrastructure minister announced on Dec. 30. 

Following the Turksat 5A satellite, the country will also launch another communication satellite, the Turksat 5B, in June, Adil Karaismailoğlu announced in Turkey's Black Sea province Ordu.

Turkey to launch new telecommunications satellite

Turkey will launch its TURKSAT 4B communications satellite from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan on Oct. 16, according to a statement by the Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ministry.

The TURKSAT 4B Communication Satellite is Turkey's sixth to be put into orbit and will work in tandem with a similar one named Turksat 4A, which was launched on Feb. 25, 2015.
