Chinese tech giant to open production plant in Turkey
China's leading device maker Xiaomi is set to open a production facility in Istanbul with an investment of $30 million in the first quarter of this year.
Turkey will be the fourth country in the world where the brand is starting production, according to a statement from the company on Feb. 4.

Myanmar's new military government has blocked access to Facebook as resistance to Feb. 1's coup surged amid calls for civil disobedience to protest the ousting of the elected civilian government and its leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

Telecom companies sign contracts for launch of 5G network
Greece's telecoms watchdog, the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), on Wednesday signed contracts with the country's three major telecoms providers Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind for the use of the 700MHz, 2GHz, 3400-3800 MHz and 26 GHz radio frequency band widths, which pave the way for a 5G network.

Turkey has issued another navigational telex, or Navtex, for the area in the Eastern Mediterranean where it will conduct seismic research activities.
Turkish Navtex seen as a nod to exploratory talks
Turkey on Tuesday issued a navigational telex, or Navtex, for seismic exploration within the contours of its continental shelf through June 21.
According to the telex, issued by the Antalya station, survey work will be conducted by the Oruc Reis, Ataman and Cengiz Han vessels.
