Hidden cameras found in hair salon bathroom

A 49-year-old hair salon owner in the northern Athenian suburb of Vrilissia was arrested on Saturday for the unlawful processing of personal data and for violating the illegal substances legislation.

According to the police, the investigation took place after a filed complaint, locating hidden cameras in the hair salon's toilets.

Greek authorities have launched a major crackdown against illegal streaming services. The panic caused by strange messages on the mobile phones of hundreds of citizens, accompanied by a loud beep, last night, has a banal explanation - a wrongly pressed button.

This was understood from the explanations of the owner of the system integrator Nikolay Simeonov to bTV.

Communications sector revenues up 41 percent

The combined sales revenues of communications companies in Türkiye increased by 40.7 percent in 2022 compared with the previous year to reach 130 billion Turkish Liras, a report by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has shown.

In the final quarter alone sales revenues of those companies stood at 40 billion liras. 

‘Panic button’ app to help women facing domestic violence

A digital application for cellphones to support women facing violence at home, called "Panic Button," was introduced in Athens and Thessaloniki on March 23.

The free app is downloaded on a smartphone and activates the service by pressing on a button which sends a text message (sms) to the operational center of the police. The app contains the needed information to locate the user.
