’Sopranos’ star Tony Sirico dies aged 79: family

US actor Tony Sirico, best known for portraying Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri in "The Sopranos," has died aged 79, his family and a former castmate said on July 8. 

Sirico played minor mobster roles in television and film for decades before being cast in his fifties as the eccentric and sometimes brutal Paulie on HBO's hit show -- becoming one of the series' most memorable characters.

‘Bewitched’ statue in Salem vandalized with red paint

In the wiggle of a nose, a man partially covered the "Bewitched" statue in Salem with red paint, police said.

Witnesses called police to report someone spray painting the bronze statue, Capt. John Burke said on June 7. The statue depicts actor Elizabeth Montgomery, as lead character Samantha Stephens in the 1960s sitcom, sitting on a broomstick in front of a crescent moon.

Squid Game season 2 not before late 2024

Fans of "Squid Game" had better not be holding their breath: Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has yet to write the script for season two and said on April 4 it would likely not be released before late 2024.

"I have to work on season two. Hopefully, I can show it to the fans by the end of 2024," the South Korean writer-director said at the MIPTV festival in Cannes in the south of France.
